Wet Wipes Machine Raw Materials: What You Need to Know

September 23, 2026

The main raw materials for wet wipes machines include nonwoven fabric, wet wipe solution, packaging film, and plastic lids. Their specifications directly affect the machine’s unwinding, folding, liquid dosing, cutting, and packaging performance.

Nonwoven fabric is the main raw material for wet wipes. Common options include spunlace nonwoven made from viscose, polyester, wood pulp, or lyocell fibers. A typical basis weight is around 30–80 g/m², depending on the application.

For the machine, fabric weight, width, roll diameter, tensile strength, and absorbency are important. Unstable material tension can cause web deviation, while different fabric thicknesses may affect folding and cutting accuracy. Therefore, the wet wipes machine should be selected according to the actual fabric specifications.

The wetting solution is usually water-based and may contain moisturizers, surfactants, preservatives, or other ingredients depending on the product. The machine uses a liquid storage and dosing system to apply a controlled amount of solution to the wipes.

Packaging commonly uses PE, OPP, PET/PE, or other laminated films. Depending on the product, plastic lids or resealable labels may also be required. Film width, thickness, and heat-sealing properties need to match the packaging unit.

3. Match Raw Materials with the Machine

A complete wet wipes production line may include automatic unwinding, web guiding, folding, liquid dosing, cutting, counting, stacking, and packaging. Machine configuration should be determined by the wipe size, fabric specifications, folding method, pieces per pack, and packaging material.

Before purchasing a wet wipes making machine, it is recommended to test the actual raw materials. Checking web tension, folding accuracy, liquid distribution, cutting performance, and sealing quality can provide a more reliable basis for equipment selection than theoretical production speed alone.
